Mic Mac (8.25) is an elite individual and gets the perfect scenario here. 1200m at Caulfield is an opportunity to come from anywhere and win. Three or four speed runners here he can easily just slide in behind them. The small field ensures he won't be too far away even if he is three pairs back. The horse continues to please the trainer, the seem happy to keep going in his first prep as long as he is improving and he is doing just that. Came from an awkward spot to win here over a 1100m. He is more advantaged at this longer distance, gives him a bit more time to come around them and win. Will be short but who cares I'm super confident he will win this easily. Only horse that might be able to push him is Kirvinsky. Nice winner at Sandown on debut and run a tidy race at stakes level in Adelaide. Will probably camp on the speed and be some chance. I like how Siberian is going. I think he is a bit of an improver. This is a nice course for him to just roll along and do his own thing. That will see him in the finish to a degree in this.

Not a race that I'm keen to play in. My only bet maybe laying Gratis again. Just a non-winner her. A strong 1800m though gives her some remote chance. So might even leave that. Hidden Wonder I found as the top rater. Should get the right run in behind on the speed and the weight pull and barrier advantage over Youthful High looks significant enough. Youthful High I rate as the hardest to beat, a Jeune winning in the wet last start - she must be going well! Golden Charmer next best, fought on well last start.

Excellent race the second. I see a scenario here where Rapid Sensation will lead and Froggy Newitt on Hussyanna will be desparate to sit on her hammer from the one barrier and use her in the straight. Hussyana (8.2) brings a fair bit of improvement for that run as she has been set for the Tasmanian Oaks. Her tardy starts are a problem, but least they are recognised, and Froggy is best at working a horse into position. I thought Rapid Sensation was excellent at Caulfield and won't go down here without a fight, but I like Hussyanna over further with the run under her belt and a good leader to run down, with a weight pull. Suggest to have something on as a suggested bet, very close to a best bet in fact. Rapid Sensation clear next best. Was pushed along a fair way out at Caulfield, but was very strong on the line so gives the impression that 1600m is within her grasp. Mamselle Rouge third best, looked good in a midweek win and gets a similar scenario here.

Schawmen has a jockey change and comes in with 55kg. He can get 2400m and I expect it to make a better fist of it this time out. Hard to tip against it, Good Red is a non-winner, Miss Pavlova reads as a chaser, Fast Ruler is more off than on. And the rest aren't much chop. I will be supporting Schawmen here, I like the horse, if they give up a silly price 3.80 plus I will put something on. Like to see them try something and take a breather for 600m somewhere to leave him with a sprint at the death. I think the uphill finish last start magnified his fading performance last start and all that combined I still see him winning this. He also showed he can handle a tighter track with his run at Cranbourne. Anything for the minors Miss Pavlova from Stash Of Gold.
