Caulfield

Race 1- Allvite...well they put the money on and they got rewarded with a stroll in victory. Good sprinting display to good for Banker's Lamp and Bianco Luci who led them up. Not a real strong speed out in front so horses from behind to had to work extra hard. Our best bet Pennycome Quick flopped out of the barriers which did us no favours. Worked home ok but the damage was done at the start.

Race 2- Odd race the 2400m race for 3yo's with a lack of speed early then Monocracy taking the race on mid-event. It did itself no good and knocked up a little, leaving it to big striding Thisonesonme to throttle the race and have enough in hand to hold off challengers Grand Destiny and Hoodlum. Both who were ok. Awakening Dream was the unlucky one having to fight for a run on the rails with a few tired ones hampering a burst. Forgive a few in this including Monocracy, overall they are pretty even.

Race 3- Big rolling Bugatti Royale put his best foot forward to out run hot favourite Sentire to the line. Typically, excellent Caulfield like run rolling into it at the turn and keeping it rolling down the straight. Sentire tried hard but couldn't break his opponent down. As suggested Joontoo Gemini and Judgement Justified would find this too tough. Emgee Rex stuck around for fifth.

Race 4- Big result here for Big Aussie followers! Box trifecta provided with 35-1 shot Red Jesteress winning from the well backed Magistra Delecta and Moxie's Jewel. Red Jesteress is one of those horses that needs to draw a certain barrier and get the right track, we knew she had it her favour today and what a win. Excellent win, good debut by Magistra and Moxies Jewel was tough but obviously needs it wetter. $1450 for $6 if you took it. (See Report)

Race 5- Magnetic our top rater was ridden beyond any chance of having excuses today. Craig Williams rode him assertively, swept him to the front on straightening and just kept going on him. Very good win in this class. He didn't beat much but he showed he had a little on these ones. Tradesman's Choice and Son of Spartacus both made reasonable runs from the back, and Empire Dancer was a trifle unlucky not getting total momentum at an important stage. Dane Empire knocked up but will be better for that.

Race 6- Lucky Indeed! History tells us now that Lucky Secret was the winner of the Sir John Monash but how far Vormista! What a sickening fourth! In the run they raced pretty tight for a sprint affair, with Lucky Secret getting all the favours out in front, running away from his fellow on-pacers on straightening and having enough on the line to win. While he was left to his devices, a mixed bag was taking place behind him. Stanzout, Sassbee Live in Vain got out and were allowed to make there runs. But "what the heck are you doing there...Marwin Gold got a stitch at the turn and feel back on anything trying to obtain a run. Most hampered was Vormista, who had to stop and come back underneath him. She then got back on the heels of runners in front, had to turn sideways again. Eventually got out with no momentum and hit the line with everything to fail second by an eyelash with Lucky Secret only a length from her on the line. SHOULD HAVE WON BY PANELS!!! What a chance gone begging with 10-1 on offer about her...with all the Secret Hysteria.

Race 7- Speed wasn't great in the seventh but the two critical points where Caprizzi Strip couldn't find the lead, and Bird Dancer got itself close enough. Bird Dancer's supporters had to be patient but got paid of today if they followed up on her. She was within a length turning for home and turned it on down the straight to win convincingly. Red Ali and Emerald Jack both got out from well back and made encouraging runs at the line. Caprizzi Strip was terrible.

Race 8- Jacqeline Rogue let to go around at double figure odds outsprinted her rivals in the last. She put the writing on the wall with a strong defiant win last start, she bettered that performance here running away from some handier ones. Prospect ridden upside down tried to do it all from the front, and did well to hang on for a place. Exalation who was specced in betting was the impressive one to emerge from the pack and looked good running on.
