Race 1- Racing subscribers would have been happy here as the trifecta of Snort, Trulli and Feedback was provided in order (paying $1515). Snort showed his class here pulling to the centre of the track and hauling in the leaders pretty quickly. Trulli went with him for much of the last 200m but Snort was a little too strong. Feedback copped a little interference and was ok on the line. Gowiththeheart was made too work pretty hard and McFly ridden against instructions found no room in the straight and paid for that as it couldn't pick up and sprint. Home in 35.06

Race 2- Both first and second were pretty impressive here. Gibraltar Campaign gave a nice kick in the straight and kept kicking strongly enough to hold Patasi who looked pretty good in running on. Gibraltar Campion excellerated very quickly, while Patasi took a while to really hit top gear. Both will go on from that. Ehor was solid, and Simplest third over the line deserved his third placing with a nice finish.

Race 3- Good pace in this set by Change of Class, Dyna Myta returned with a hard running display down the outside to win this. Ridden cold all the way, she went up with Evilweb to claim the lead inside the 150m mark to come away, just holding off that horse to win. Both very honest performances by the first two. Both Our Bella Rossa and Napa Sky gave sights but showed there limitations in this grade. Idria was a really nice run in behind them. Had to wait a little on a run but was finishing just as well as the first two home. Home in 35.20

Race 4- Ambitous General was brilliantly ridden here to win this, but did look good in getting the job done. A pretty strong race this. Danever was great and from this it's hard to see Furio turning the tables on him as he had a harder run on the speed yet was still a live chance right on the line. Furio was good in third and perhaps can improve in transit as it has a tendency to race a little keen. Ambitous General responded to hard riding in the straight to go to the line superbly to overhaul them. As mentioned impressed with Danever as it was unable to get in early. Battling efforts by the rest. Home in 35.37

Race 5- Incumbent backed up her good recent form and big trial win to prove too tough in the Inglis Premier. Brazon Hussey set a blazing tempo to have Tresor, Incumbent and Shrewd Ryhthm well on the chase up the straight. Tresor firstly gave the best kick, but Incumbent with more power reigned him in. Shrewd Rythym went to the line good too. Potomac ran on ok too from well back. Home in 36.04.

Race 6- Upset in the Futurity, with Aqua Da More proving too hard to catch. Rated well in front by Steve Baster Aqua Da More showed the benefit or recent racing, a leaders bias and a bit of abilty to hold off the impressive Seachange and El Segundo. Both were game chasing the mare but were left feeling ambushed in this. The rest ran pretty good too, so don't dismiss them. El Segundo though well beaten had the best last 600m in 33.80. Overall the race was finished in 33.95. So it was almost impossible to catch the mare in full flight today.

Race 7- Soulicraux blasted his opposition in the 2000m race. Ridden quietly on the rail behind the leaders for the most part, he looked under pressure before straightening but then turned in a scintillatingly quick run to the line to give nothing else a chance. Very likable win. Forest Knight was honest, Gallic great considering the weight, Irazu ran on without threatening...home in 34.99.

Race 8- Painful start here with Mind Your Head missing the kick. The jump was the key with Cinque Centro hitting the ground running and Mind Your Head dwelling. That was decisivie believe me. From there Personal Ensign grabbed a hold of the race setting a walking tempo. Cinque Centro pounced on it straightening with Let Go Thommo and Stickpin getting a clear run on the rail. Mind Your Head at this stage managed to push its way up to fifth. Cinque Centro broke away for a good win, Let Go Thommo again showed something but battled on the line and Stickpin was a good run for a horse who usually improves on his first run back. Mind Your Head was very good considering. He ran on to fourth, but would have won if he had a chance to dominate the race from the front with the leaders bias in full flight by now. Home in 33.58

Race 9- All the Goss rolled into town and showed a nice on the pace display to claim this from Lykanna who gave it a real race in the last 100m. Both ran up to there best and were pretty good. Katmai whacked away into third. And Mistake Creek to ensure the track bias was well in truly in favour of horses on the speed filled the fourth placing. The best run in the race...Flame of Sydney easily. She came from the second half of the field and charged after the front brigade. Would have won bar the bias, she beat the other back markers by six lengths with 59kg. Home in 34.51

Other notables:

Barlinnie was mentioned in this section last week as my best from the Cranbourne Trials. Fancy it going to Terang and winning it running away at $10. Some people are mad hey! Completion too won again at Bendigo this time, I think he's running at Sale on Tuesday...get ready for another put in take out with him.

Best from recent trials.

Dance Hero ran a tick over 56 in a trial at Cranbourne(1000m) and looked fantasic...the best I've seen him. Alfajiri caught my eye as did Murray Mary from trials on 26/2.

Win of the Day

Soulicraux

Horses to Follow- Mind Your Head, Alfajiri.

Better than it Looks- Flame Of Sydney, Danever, Idria
